Abschluss an der medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Ankara im Jahr 1985. Abschluss seines Spezialisierungsstudiums in der Abteilung für Gehirn- und Neurochirurgie an der Hacettepe-Universität im Jahr 1995. Promotion an der gleichen Universität im Jahr 2005, Ernennung zum Assistenzprofessor im Jahr 2006, außerordentlichen Professor im Jahr 2007 und ordentlichen Professor im Jahr 2014.
